A Closer Look at the 2011 24K Gold Infused Home Run Derby Baseball
By BLB Admin on December 19th, 2011
Another post that’s long overdue – a closer look at that shiny new gold leather home run derby ball from Gold Sport Collectibles and Rawlings. We’re going photo heavy on this one because we’ve discussed it enough here and in a related post here.
I will say after receiving the ball from the MLB.com Shop this past summer, I was pretty impressed with the entire package. I used a discount code the reduce the cost 20%, so that helped. But once I saw the presentation, and the ball itself, I decided it was worth the full cost for a one time purchase. Not looking forward to having to shell out $150 every year so hopefully this won’t become an annual ball, if it does maybe they can cut the cost in half somehow. Onto the good stuff:

The box within the shipping box. Gold Sport Collectibles, LLC on the label, but no Rawlings?

IMPORTANT... A card inserted with the purchase.

UNIQUENESS - One of a kind. The reverse of the card. Or maybe this is the front?

2011 Rawlings 24K Gold Leather Home Run Derby Baseball Certificate of Authenticity.

Glass Case with Wood Base. Did not know this was part of the deal - nice!

A closer look shows the mirror base and name plate.

League Panel

GOLD. Top panel.

24 Karat gold-infused leather sweet spot.
