Rawlings 2011 Official World Series Baseball
This new 2011 World Series game ball was released not long after the All-Star break. We saw the artwork for this ball near the beginning of the season and the final result looks the same.
Major League Baseball continues to promote the “Fall Classic” nickname along with the autumn-related branding, such as the two large leaves adoring the main text of the logo.
The American and National League Championship Series have just kicked off. We’ll see either the Milwaukee Brewers or St. Louis Cardinals face-off against the Texas Rangers or Detroit Tigers. Check out our World Series Gallery in the Museum of Baseballs to see all the previous World Series gamers, from 1978-2011.
Although this becomes the 38th World Series Baseball in the Museum, there have only been 33 World Series matchups to feature a commemorative game ball. The 1994 Series was canceled thanks to the strike, and in 1992, 2000 and 2001 multiple baseballs were produced, though not all were used. For additional information about World Series Baseballs and their history check our original post from 2010.
